Nick Morgan CTA – Director

Nick qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1997. Nick previously worked in the accounts, audit and taxation departments of two international firms of accountants. During this period he advised clients ranging from individuals to international companies on accounting and taxation issues.

Since joining HJE in 1998, Nick has developed a specialist knowledge of the accounting, taxation and financial requirements of business in the Healthcare sector. Having previously been engaged as an Associate Director, Nick now assumes a key role as a Director providing expert advice to clients in both the Primary and Secondary Care Sectors. Nick regularly presents seminars on a wide range of financial matters to GP training programmes, GP led groups and NHS Senior Executives. Nick is a member of the UK 200 Healthcare Committee.


Rebecca Read ACA,CTA – Director

Rebecca Read joined HJE as Director in May 2016 following its acquisition by Watts Gregory LLP. Rebecca trained and qualified with Watts Gregory, having gained an honours degree in Mathematics from The University of Bath. Rebecca gained membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 2008 as well as the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2009. In completing her Chartered Accountant qualification, Rebecca won the Institute’s Carter prize for achieving the highest mark nationally in the taxation paper.

Rebecca has gained much experience across a broad range of disciplines, while working closely with owner managed businesses and their owners, throughout her time at Watts Gregory. In more recent years Rebecca has specialised in advisory tax. Rebecca has experience in providing specialist taxation advice to GP partners, GP Locums and Hospital Consultants as well as Dental Practitioners and Associates in addition to looking after their everyday accounting needs.

Rebecca is married with two children and is a keen sportswoman, managing and playing for a local netball club consisting of three high-level teams competing in the Cardiff & District league, as well as enjoying running, skiing, cycling and triathlon. As a pianist, she regularly plays the organ in a local church, where she is an active member.
